Washington Township Museum of Local History

The Washington Township Museum of Local History collection contains texts and audiovisual material (moving images and audio) from the 1850s to 2000s. A majority of the collection consists of Washingtonian yearbooks and recorded oral interviews with residents of the Washington Township area. Subjects include the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and local history of Fremont, California.

Description : Livery stable in Mission San Jose. Group of 12 people including two horse drawn carriages. This property (43327 Mission Blvd.) was built in 1895 by Daniel Baker for a livery business. Description : The saga of the Japanese Pavilion. This building featured in the Japanese compound at the 1915 Panama Pacific Exposition (picture is on-site). After the exposition closed, Clara Layson negotiated with the owner for possession and had the pavilion moved by barge to Ardenwood where it was remodeled under the direction of the famous architect Julia Morgan, to be Clara's residence.'
